Dear artists and supporters of the festival OFF Bratislava,
Currently, the festival is intended to enjoy a completely live event and our commitment to support photography and new media as a communal experience in real time and space is unwavering as we plan this year’s festival. We have the pleasure to announce a Shortlist of Artists for this year’s edition titled “Born From Sea Foam”. The OFF Bratislava Board of Curators has selected 21 projects for the festival’s main program in 2020.

An integral part of the festival this year will be again the OFF Academy section; presenting exhibitions of universities, and other educational institutions, and the OFF Satellite section; presenting exhibitions organized by external galleries.
Nevertheless, the Covid-19 situation is constantly changing and we are also sensitive to the needs of artist (aware that even with lifted restrictions some may not be able to travel) and will have contingencies in place for all eventualities. During these extraordinary times of uncertainty, we believe that nothing will ever replace the photographic festival experience. We do, however, see the opportunities these new circumstances bring – engaging new audience who wouldn’t otherwise attend the festival – and we intend to seize an opportunity to further promote the enjoyment of photography and new media.
We wish great success to all the artists who were not included in the program of the festival OFF Bratislava 2020. This year again we received big amount of applications with remarkable projects, which makes us feel honored and on the other hand, it makes the final selection extremely difficult.
We want to thank each applicant for the interest and we truly hope that you will apply with your projects to the festival again in the future. We also take this opportunity to invite you to the gala opening, taking place on Friday 6 November 2020 at 6 pm on the second and third floor of OD Dunaj on SNP sq. 30 in Bratislava. Do not hesitate to bring your friends too.
